So all the parts are the same and they dont require any sertain ammount of voltage that differs between countries?. For e.g if i used my cable that i have now plugged it into a PSU from america it would work fine?.I was planning on building my own pc but thought if i was buying from the U.S then it would be risky ordering loads of seperate parts that could easily get lost, but its still an option as it would be half of what i would pay in england. And BTW anyone know any good u.s sites, i've been looking on newegg.com(free shipping) and tigerdirect but havn't seen anything much that i like.

If the PSU has a voltage selection switch on the back you must select 240 volts . If there is not a switch but the PSU comes from the USA then it will be preset at 115 volts (I think ) You plug this in & Kabooooom ! you will blow it up for sure .

No, just don't buy a PSU from US, get one in UK, The adapters as you call them would in effect be pointless as it would have to be plugged into your 240 volts in order to drop the voltage to 110 solely for the power supply & I doubt such a transformer will come cheap & that is if you can get one easily
You may be confused with the word adapter which you see for sale for oversea travel, the US adapter does nothing more than make our plugs fit into theirs but does not alter the voltage & this is why UK hairdryers etc we take with upon holiday only run at half speed All other parts you buy will be serviced by the PSU which will give out the required voltages . I can see your point in buying in the US with the good exchange rates . but whatever else you buy get your PSU over here.

Alright that seems a better way thanks usher. But have you or do you know anyone whos orderd overseas? i just want abit of convidence that it will work and the motherboard or other parts don't require the voltage from america. Is it just the PSU which sorts all the voltage's out?.
