I'm just going to make an usumption here. But I've had my laptop for over 2 years as my primary computer with a mobile radeon 9000 64mb. kinda week but it still runs today's games decently. We all know that the x600 is a great card. and if it's being tossed into a laptop it'll loose a little power but there will still be plenty to be had. and with the 256 that's just going to make it last a long time. so by all means I'd go for it. I've been looking into a new computer or maybe laptop. not sure which yet but with those specs I bet you'll be happy. of course it won't be optomise for batterylife but when plugged in it'll run just under the performance of a desktop of the same specs. that's my opinion by the way.

I was wondering if i bought that one HP zd8000 laptop and picked the 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X600 card that came with it...would it be good to play games like Counter Strike: Source, and like Halo, and HL2?
or would it be better if i got one of those hardcore expensive laptops from alienware and dell? because i'm trying to save $$$ B) and if i get a good laptop maybe i'll get that Star Wars 3 movie :starwars: |

first of all don't get an hp. if I were you I'd get either a compaq or dell and then install my own operating system cuz they always add all that crap that slows down your system. Just look around for what you want and set a budget. only then can you really know what to get.

Laptops are always crappy. I have an HP compaq nx9110, which was state of the art when I bought it in October. But I keep getting all kinds of errors and my graphics card is crap (Radeon 9000). But we have HP desktops as well and those always work fine.
Perhaps I shouldn't have thrown that coffee to my laptop. :Oo:
