Overclocking

Hi, I Wasnt Sure Whether Or Not I Was Going To Overclock My Cpu, I Have Seen Some Bizarre Things Happen, Example: In A Magazine I Bought (Pc Gamer) They Overclocked Several Cpu's, And Some Of Them, After Overclocking Were Performing Worse Then Default ;) can someone give me some useful info.

Don't do it until you don't know exactly what you're doing.

knowledge isnt the problem, i have overclocked numerous times before, I've just never really seen any difference.

are you a gamer, or are you more of a email/MS word user?

I have my processor overclocked from 2.53 to 3.12, not a big overclock, but enough for me. I see a preformance gain for about 5-10 FPS playing HL2, CS:S. Once I can get my Artic Silencer back I will overclock my vid card again, that gained me about 10-15 FPS in game.

If your a not much of a gamer, you wont noticed much of a differenece from the overclock, maybe your program opens .01 sec faster than it did before.

hehe :P i'm a game fanatic, I play TONSS of Planetside, I've played it since the release, and I never really get sick of it, I amlso play farcry, (love the 64bit) and css, but still never really seen a difference. planetside is my main concern because it LAGGS so heavily at times, probly because its a mmo but not sure. Also wuts ur average fps in cs:s? mine should be a lil better my specs are higher
