Suba Games Portal
SubaGames. That's the name used by Wicked Interactive Ltd., for it's game portal, intended to serve primarily North America, which teams with YedangOnline and G4BOX to host AceOnline (known as Space Cowboys at one point), Pristontale, Metin2, the current beta Crossfire, and some year may host Pristontale 2.
Beginning with AceOnline, SubaGames has expanded rapidly in it's ten months of... attempting to operate as a major game portal. By all appearances, there has been little, to no, planned effort, to handle the expansion. It's obvious at least the expansion was planned, though. There is a tremendous lack of business meets games and gamers knowledge. It appears as if the company is a job haven for non-gamers fresh out of Microsoft online certification classes, and managed by former used condom salesman.
Crossfire: SubaGames has followed the amusing trend of opening Cash Malls for beta games with this FPS from G4BOX (a.k.a. CS 1.6, but add 1,943 ms latency). If you're a sucker who wants to pay for a Beta game, maybe sheck out CF. Another amusing trend is the seeming wholesomeness SubaGames seems to place on game filled with spattering blood and wholesale murder, is regularly banning accounts with char names that may HINT at offending your local church-goer's. Not a bad game, but currently a meca for hackers, with no apparent solution in sight.
AceOnline, Pristontale, and the endlessly delayed Beta of Pristontale2 for NA are products of Yedang Online. Unfortunately, being partnered with a company that hasn't updated it's PR page, History page, and even it's CEO greeting, in over three years, spells bad news for SubaGames.
Game updates come at a snails pace, and that's in comparison to other MMO's. While SubaGames is making a valiant effort at player support, it seems they can do virtually nothing without Yedang, a company that does virtually nothing. Three games to avoid, unless SubaGames can grow balls and enforce contractual support obligations.... that would seemingly be in place, with YedangOnline.
Metin2, and RPG grind with some good content is seemingly out of place here, as it somehow manages to maintain a combination of quality community with minimal hacker prescence.
Of course, all these can found at subagames.com. Subagames has opted for ONE forum system for all the games combined. Some dysfuntional failure thing called Discuz. Be sure to check out the forums first, if you're bored enough to try one of these games.
