Argh, I'm so pissed I need to vent out... :nxs:

Two days ago we've posted the Shadow Vault interview on our site. The questions for it were sent in a month ago, right after the game was announced. And while the interviewee took that long to answer our questions, he also had another two interviews to do for Jacushii and RPGCodex - so he decided to copy+paste some of the answers throughout the three interviews. He also managed to accidentally copy+paste one of RPGCodex' questions into our interview (dunno how it's possible, he better answer that himself).

So now the little girls from RPGCodex decided to have an ego trip on our account and posted the following SHIT on their frontpage:

Speaking of the below news item as well as the recently posted interview we have here. It looks like GamersHell has decided that rather than write interviews on their own, they've decided to cut and paste interviews from other sites and call it theirs. Check out this interview on their site about ShadowVault. Getting deja vu?

You should? The rat bastards over there have basically ripped questions and answers, word for word, from my interview as well as from Jucaushii's interview. So, I decided to email the editors there with this:

Editors,

Just what the hell is the idea with posting an interview which is a cut and paste job on your site with clips from interviews on Jucaushii.ro and my site? Your "interview" is nothing more than things taken word for word from those two interviews. Take a good, long, hard look at the one on your site, then check out these two links:

http://www.jucaushii.ro/read_art.php?aid=210
http://www.rpgcodex.com/content.php?id=70

Your question about the combat in the game is verbatim what I asked in my question, which is labelled #8 for ease of reference, followed by the answer to that question as well as the answer to other questions on both the sites.

This kind of happy horseshit doesn't fly well with me, kids. Cutting and pasting from a couple of sites and calling it your own isn't kosher.

I await an answer.

As Deathy put it, Internet gaming journalism at it's best.

You can read the rest of it in this funny little thread on their boards right here, as the events get really hot there... A confrontation even broke out between hiv and the guy that posted this shit.

RPGcodex is what we like to call a site run by premature dumbasses. They jump to conclusions, hold no faults as their own, and somehow annoy the shit out of people. THE EPITOME OF A CRAPPY AND TROLLY WEBSITE.

How about you email them back "We have several pimp ftp servers... where are yours?"

It's not even about the FTPs or any other content we provide to our visitors. Sites can be big, and they can be small, everyone has to start somewhere. However their attitude is what ruins it for them.

Very, very true!

One thing about getting better known and more trafficed... some people are going to take shots at you.

Why bother getting upset?

Just because there's certain things that shouldn'e be said about GH without sufficient evidence. I'd get mega pissed if someone punched my friend, cursed my g/f or spat on my dog. This is one of those things as well.

I'm sorry this had to happen to us Dennis. I read your threads on there and appreciate you guys (Fran., Ala, you) for sticking up for the site. You said everything I would have, although I would of given up and just ignored it from the get go most likely.

They are a small amateur site and it's probably effectively run by children (teenagers..whatever).

While I wouldn't call Ghell non-amateur or professional yet, we are moving heavily in that direction and we'll be seeing some big changes coming soon (for the good of course). From now on it's probably best to just ignore the ignorant bullshit like this and correct whatever problems we had, and just move on.

There is one guy in that thread on RPG Codex who just will not give up and shutup, and sometimes I wonder how stupid people can really get.

The sad thing is if we posted something like that on our frontpage their host would probably suspend their account from all the traffic, lol.

Oh well, life goes on.

How to say this without pissing people off....

I totally agree that these guys fell off of their chair publicly accusing GH of posting plagiarized interviews.

A lot of the forumites know this, but for you that do not: I write reviews for GH, and I spent about 4 months as an admin on these forums. I have seen first hand how the newsers and reviewers go about their business here, and I can assure everyone first hand that these folks (me included) go to great lengths to avoid any appearance of impropriety.

Having said that, consider how many times Fileplanet (to use an example) has been bashed here on these forums (albeit, not on the front page) by administrators, and weigh that with how many times FP employees have come onto the site to defend themselves. In fairness, the admins refer to these sites indirectly, not by name.

Large organizations of any type are bashed daily, rather it is justified or not.

As the site grows, these kind of things are going to happen more and more often, and attempting to defend each and every incident not only can look unprofessional, it will drive you nuts

I've spent years in a very competitive industry, and I can assure you from first-hand experience that, in the long run, you will do much better to take the high road and just ignore these shots.

Defending yourself against them on their site gains nothing, and can often just lead to a misunderstanding of your point and make us look worse.

Hey, in the very least, they sent some visitors here to read the interview! A few more unique visits, eh?

damn...all that reading made my eyes hurt...........but I'll agree with olympusxp on this on......ignore them!!

and if this continues being as bad as it is now....i'd take it to Mayhem Studios.
and as for this saint_proverbius guy.....i understand him. But if i were to be interviewed about a game that i have under development I wouldnt be able to tell all the interviewers different stuff about the game!! Id give'm all the same info with maybe a little variety.
