There is a part in the movie when the drill instructor, R. Lee. Ermy, gets irritated at who he calles private joker and maked him march pants down and sucking his thumb

whiat is the point of the bell shaped thing on the end of the barrel. If it were shooting slugs, I'd say it was a muzzle brake or flash suppressor, but I don't see any holes in it, and an airgun doesn't have a flash to suppress.

Its a silencer Bucky, alot of noise comes out of the barrel from the spring, because it has nowhere else to travel, but after the pellet, the silencer has 'special' sound absorbing grids in it to stop the soun travelling any further, so basically, when im shooting rabbits from 10-20 feet (which is close,and i dont always shoot as this range) , they cannot hear the sound, only a silent (at that range) crack and then if i miss :P, a hole in the ground a a thud, but the advantage of a silencer is that it doesnt scare the shit out of everything else after you've taken your shot, and also, doesnt wake the farmers
