So All you lot go hack the cod6 game to bits rip it open leave it bleeding on the floor,
Rip all the wepons the maps the the sounds and re vamp it for cod4

ok it will take some time but if IW want to [bad word] let em.
they will loose ££££

I and my mates have already cancelled MW2 order.
We don't want mw2!!!

They forget it was the pc gamers who made gaming great in the begining.

Actually cod was made possible by medal of honor which debuted on a console. Without that experience cod and the team largely responsible for it would have never come to live.

Anyway, enough about that. I do not agree with Activisions decision at all, but the dedicated servers are being killed by pirates and cheaters. They are the ones responsible for this catastrophy. Where piracy on Ps3 is none, a small percentage on the 360, piracy and the abuse of dedicated servers on pc is simply terrible.

Piracy is destroying the ability to make dedicated servers and is also killing the mod scene. Now that any pc gamer with half a brain can download anything for free, there is no incentive to get involved in the somewhat free modding scene.

Also, cod is a no skills required game like there are a million more. Spray and pray and basicly nothing has changed since the first MOH game with MP on pc. Easy arcady aiming with a complete lack of any realism. Boycotting this game will have 0 effect, since cod can easily afford to miss some sales vs the profit they get from pirates who will now buy the game for mp.

I understand that piracy is a big issue however, raising the price of the game and then taking away major things that PC users have used forever, is not the way to go about it!

I don't know what the answer is but, what Activision/IW is doing is not it!

Raising the price is a completely different issue. That's because of that money greedy ass at the top. Every industry has them and in this industry he is the president of Activision.

I could rage on and on about him, but playing the marvelous game called Uncharted 2 has made me pretty mellow Screw Activision and hurray for Naughty dog

The president of Activision should be a character in Pain!

I don't see it as a different issue. I see it as Activision trying to kill PC gaming. To be fair though, it is not just them.

I had to rent Borderlands on the 360 because there was no demo. However, I will buy it for the PC and then promptly crack it because I hate securerom.

This does not mean I am a pirate, it just means that as a paying customer, I don't like to be screwed over. And seriously, Borderlands PC was released a week after the consoles even though you could buy the PC version in stores at the same time. What does that tell you??

Screw the consoles!

The usual suspect in killing pc gaming is called Microsoft. You know, that company you actively support by buying games on their system. Hereś the most recent link on that: Microsoft likely to raise Xbox Live price, says Pachter

Just be glad that other companys like Nintendo, Sony and Linux are currently kicking MSś ass on every front imagenable. As someone who watches the linux movement closely I can assure you that the poor Linux copy based on the poor Vista kernel that we call Windows 7 is the last twitch of a dying giant that caused itś own death. Linux on the other hand is currrently growing faster then anyone can imagine.

You never quit do ya. Blowing on every god damn rumour you find. How badly has MS butt raped you to become such an activist
Linux will never become so popular that it would be abel to compeate with Windows its not even a threat to Mac so long way to go.
And I wish W7 Kernel would be a copy from linux maybe it would run even better. Get real Damn cultists. Stop lying to your selves.
Heres the deal.
Bare bone Linux/Unix Distros awsome for server duties because of the lack of services/functionality. (User friendly distros useless)
Mac great for Visual/Audio creation.
Windows for everything! even if it fells short in some aspects.

Back to the topic.
The only thing great about this whole MW2 ordeal is the fact that clans get hurt.
I hate those fuckers. 12yearolds trying to host with their 256k connections their parents got them, ganging up on regular players and when they loose theyll just kick you out.

In that note. I never where about to buy MW2 and never will.
Nothing to do with this recently announced fiasco.
When I get bored with Borderlands and after GTAIV gay tony, Assasins Greed 2 I might just buy Uncharted 2 or keep playing the demo levels

Gazz, HD0087, every OS serves a different type of consumer. So there will never be an absolute number one (fortunately).
  • Windows is for gamers, people needing to update their TomTom navigation devices and people who think it is normal to replace their entire hardware just to be able to run the next version (with which they do the exact basic things, so what's the point of that?).
    -
  • Ubuntu is for those who don't need to update their TomTom nav systems. And for those who want an easy-to-use, libre operating system. And like a file browser supporting tabbed browsing (and I reallly a mean file browser). And those who like very active user community forums. (My favorite OS at the moment).
    -
  • Mac OS X is for "wannabee sexy" yups (--> young urban pros) and artists. And do not need to update their TomTom navigation devices.
    -
  • Mandriva is for people loving to open each folder in a new window (some of those Frenchmen in the dev team have been seriouly having to much wine). And do not need to update their TomTom navigation devices.
    -
  • (open)SUSE is for companies, and other people not needing to do much with multimedia. And do not need to update their TomTom navigation devices.
    -
  • Slackware (at least that's what I've heard) is for people who are using GNU/Linux from day one, the "Linux diehards" so to speak. And do not need to update their TomTom navigation devices.

Offtopic: I think the odds on a total flop of DirectX 11 are rather high, if so then it would be a major blow to not only Microsoft, but also AMD. Nvidia may have made the right move, by designing a card that is aimed much more at GPGPU capablities. And Intel made the driver software open source, which will be a major advantage for them in future (when several OSses have a somewhat strong role in the market).

No, windows marketshare is actually falling and it has been for quite some time. Windows does dominate the market, but with XP. Vista only has a 22% share which is dramaticly low for a os that gets delivered on every new pc. Windows 7 sales so far are dissapointing and seems a far way from the frenzy that surrounded XP's release back in the day.

Let's look at the picture that is MS again. They are losing ground to the competition. Their browser, email and media player aren't the basic player in many setups anymore due to Firefox, thunderbird, Vlc and so on. Their mouse and keyboard section seems to be slowly dying (anyone heard anything from that lately?), Zune hasn't even been released anywhere else then the states. Windows mobile is a flop. The first mobiles with Linux on them appear to be a huge hit: Hands on: Nokia N900 review | News | TechRadar UK. The 360 has been hit hard by the Wii first and their failed attempt to drive the playstation brand out of bussiness is currently turning against them with the PS3 outselling them furiosly. The PS3 is also on it's way too completely outsell them in two of the three mayor markets before the end of the year. They already had Japan and Europe is soon to come.

And so the list goes on. I also meant the poor linux copy as the graphical interface, it's becoming more and more of an kde look a like.

@Richard: Do try the new Mandriva 2010 that is due to be released in November (I currently run RC2 of that). It's amazing. Just take a glass of wine and have fun exploring it.
