Okay I have a question I'm going to ask here, but not sure if anyone here can help....if anybody is good with cars or is an experienced mechanic you may be able to help me.

I have a problem with the power windows on my 88' chrysler 5th avenue. the rears seem to go up & down fine but the fronts will not go down, I took apart the drivers front door panel and checked if power was going to the window motor when I press the switch and it IS but only when I push the switch in the up position, no power when I pull down on switch.
so wtf?? and when I try using the switch on the passenger side same thing no power, so I doubt both switches went at the same time, they used to both work not too long ago.

help please........ :bucky!:

Did you check your circuit breakers?
I have no idea where they are in your car model so look at the manual..

So you checked the circuit breakers and they where ok?
Because if there was a problem it might have made some damage to the window motors or some wires maybe fused/crap?
(I’m not good with the mechanical English language) :francesco:

well these circut breakers obviously reset themselves some how, so I was playing with the rear windows and they seem fine, but after trying to get the fronts working the breaker felt quite hot, I'm thinking there is something wrong with it, but it's gotta be working a little cause the rears work.......right? could the fronts use a different voltage maybe, and vreaker not running it properly?? god who knows, first thing first I'm gonna put a new breaker in and see what happens....thats the easiest thing to try, then if its no good, I'll move on to following the wires up from the door and look for a bad one....what a mess!

Any other input is welcome. ;)

Okay I took the switch assembly out and the two fronts appear to be cooked! gonna grab a used switch from the wreckers, see if that fixes it, and pray it doesn't short out again.... :dennis:
