Hitman Pro installs those programs, it doesn't combine them.

You forgot to mention:
  1. a decent firewall
  2. anti-spam
  3. anti-phishing
I swear, it is much better to uninstall al that crap and to use a good security suite. Gamers like us should avoid Norton Internet Security btw, since that one is using too much system resources and doesn't protect too well. I recommend McAfee Internet Security (with a license for up to 3 computers), NOD32 or Kaspersky. If you are on low budget, ZoneAlarm is a recommendation (low price, reasonable protection).

Being behind a router gives additional protection, as long as you don't download an infected file.

Norton Internet Security is a seriously evil program.

There is absolutely no need to run 100s of programs and security suites, firewalls, proxies and the like if you setup your network and pc properly. I don't use windows firewall, I have use a FREE antivirus solution and make my router do all the hardwork. My PC is for gaming and all my resources are used to do so. If your PC is used by more than 1 person, make all the logon accounts non-administrative. This will stop a lot of problems. Other things to look out for are:

Enable the firewall on your router. Enable Network Address Translation (NAT) on the router. Use a antivirus program with a realtime scanner with a small memory footprint. Enable anti-phishing in your browser and preferrably use firefox or another mozilla based browser. Disable javascript if you can. Make use of User Account Control (UAC) in Vista.

Yes, that is why I said that it should be avoided. Even my dad switched to McAfee!

If you are in search of good Anti spyware software then I will suggest you to use Search And Destroy - Top Anti-Spyware Software 2008. It proves the best.
Thanks! :

Guys, really, all pc magazines proof every time that the free stuff is inferior to the A titles. If you are using Windows you should use a good security software suite like McAfee internet security or the equivalents from NOD or Kaspersky.

I personally use Mandriva Linux for all work and work related stuff. Best way to avoid viruses is by avoiding the basis on which they work after all, don't want to get burned? then don't fly to the sun and all. Anyway, i do have Windows XP running for gaming. Have NOD on that. I also use Firefox which blocks out the majority of crap and my add ons such as flash block and some more keep me safe from the biggest pile of crap. Then again, I hardly browse on it since XP is gaming only. Kinda like a console you turn on and off, only difference is that I reboot.

It's not perfect, but I can tell you it's millions of times safer then using all the Microsoft crap. Virus writers tend to aim for that group in particular since they have the least knowledge of pc's anyway and the ones protecting them (known as MCSA) are idiots who break into a panicattack without a graphical installer.

Btw, didn't avg free just kill thousands of pc's a week or so back? (not intended as a bash at GM, just a question)
