Can anyone help?

its been going on for 3 weeks. i havn't rung the ISP yet but they'd have to be really dodgy if the problems at there end and its been happening this long.

CPU/Speed: pentium 4/2.8 ghz
RAM Module Size: 1 ghz
Operating System: xp home edition (sp2)
modem type/manufacturer: adsl USB modem/web excel

One day when i was on the computer several web pages just suddenly stopped working, for example; the microsoft home page, myspace and the msn messenger service. Ive checked the settings on the firewall and can't find any problems. I tried disabling the firewall but the problem was still there. I tried using the firefox browser but that had the same problem.

Has this only happened once? Could be a hiccup at your internet service provider.

Run adaware or spybot. Besides, its 1Gb Ram, not GHz.

sorry i should have added that ive run several spyware and virus removal programs. I've also checked the hosts file and havn't found any changes in it. Ghz was a typo and i doubt anyone gained anything from you pointing that out, thanks for trying to help anyway.

If you are still living at home you might consider the option that your parents have installed parental control. Ofcourse the sites that you mentioned are far worse and more evil then Gamershell here, so your parents did right for blocking them.

Anyway, if my theory is right then I expect you to kill them just for the pure fun of prooving there are worse things then Msn.com :P

Might be that you have a scrip blocker installed?....you know, the lil prg that blocks all those JAVA stuff for the hell of it

Confirm you have the right primary and secondary DNS servers in your TCP/IP config. If you need to know what they are then let me know your ISP.
