Alexander the movie

Anyone here like/dislike this movie? I read the new unrated edition is meant to be the best version of this movie, they have added alot of content that Oliver has stated actually make the movie flow better and add a lot more depth to the movie. I thought Alexander was pretty good, I didn't really get most of the negative press for it but I had a few of my own criticisms so perhaps this version will satisfy me in that aspect. Oliver stone is also answering questions personally up on the official site for the movie, here.

I didn't thnk they made a good movie. I felt they stressed issues that can't be
proved and overlooked his true claim to Glory. He is one of the Greatest Figures
in History and guesses have no right to be implided.

Well I didnt like to movie... I lost my respect to Alexander when i watched the movie.. He is not gay!

Oh contraire.There are a lot of sources that state something else, although it´s never said directly. But having male intercourse and certain homosexual relationships was totally normal during the hellenic ages and thereafter...
And don´t try to tell me something else, i won´t even read it, I´m working on my degree in history and archaeology

I haven't seen the original movie, but I did like the new release of it. One of my friends told me that I should really check it out, so after buying it I was shocked by the fact that it came with a free 300 ticket. (Which I have yet to use because I'm waiting for my friends to stop being lazy.) Anyway, I thought this movie was amazing and I think Oliver Stone is a genious simply because of this movie. I read on the movie's My Space that Oliver said this is the complete version. (He's even answering fan questions which is just cool.) Great movie in my opinion.

I thought it was decent, but not good. Like Troy, I think the movie simply got lost in itself (if that makes sense), and therefore lost the audience.

I also don't see why it was panned simply because oliver depicted Alexander as homosexual, it doesn't detract from the movie, it just explores a very likely possibility... I think the revisited edition of the movie really does focus on other parts of Alexander the greats life though instead of focusing on that.
