I dont know how hard it is to set up a fourm,so im not pushin ya to finish it,im just curios why hasnt the news comment sectio of GH forums compleed yet?

Ahem...Yeah...Forums...Yeah, I dunno, you'll have to wait for one of the actual admins to answer that question.

I think they are making some kind of 'bot' typething, or script to make the news thats posted on the main page automatically get posted in the news section so people can comment on it , and no new threads can be made in there , just a guess... am i right???

We've had this under wraps for a while because we didn't want to disappoint you guys with empty promises, but it seems that we're REALLY close to completion now, so the more curious of you must've started wondering about the purpose of that empty board section.


In short Syanide is absolutely right... What will be there is our new comments system, that will automatically create a thread for every one of the news that we post (with a corresponding name) and add a link to the actual discussion thread from the main article - you must've seen similar comments systems on some other sites, like Blue's and VE3D... The only difference here will be that the "news comments" section will be an integral part of the board (or at least we invision it to be this way), AS WELL as the website. That means that people that don't frequent the board much will have an option to leave a comment on a particular news article (without the need to register on board of course - or at least I'm pushing for it) without first having to open the board in a seperate window, get to the right section, open a new thread or find an existing one; while at the same time our frequent board users will still be able to use BOTH the board AND the comments system through the forums... Syanide was also correct when he said that no one will be able to post new articles in there - except for the auto-generating comment threads for news articles that we pose.

So as a summary.... "News Comments" section = new comments system = still being developed = we'll let you know when it's done (or rather you'll see it yourself in action rather soon, I hope).
