This is my first post, hope it's useful. Rock bands? My favourites:
Seether, A, Smile Empty Soul, 12 Stones, 30 Seconds To Mars, AFI, Socialburn, Live, Powerman 5000, Rammstein, Saliva... that's about it, some sweet stuff has been mentioned already.

Hmmm, I dont know if I'd personally consider this metal, but Tool is an awesome band.

More punk than metal really,

Gob, mxpx, Yellowcard, Autopilot Off, The Ataris, boysetsfire, Nickelback, Fuel, Socialburn are all great. I like many bands, most of which have already been posted. Oh, and Nine Inch Nails.

Tool is most certainly metal. They're just a lot deeper. What other band can say f**k, like, 30 times in a song and make it sound so elegant? Tool is the greatest band to ever grace my ears. (besides, of course, Led Zeppelin) Lateralus was definitly a different facet in the diamond that is Tool. :thumbup:

one time my friend had a speaker cd player and was listening to headfones in class (against the rules but what the hell) and he accidentally unpluged the headfones and it blased all of chocolate starfish in class before he could turn it off!!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!
