This I'm sure is sort of a n00b queston but anyway. I was wondering exactly what programs you used when designing signatures for myself and others? I'm thinking about getting into graphic design and would like to know what programs I should be working with. I've already got Photoshop 7.0 but I know there are acouple more pieces of software I should be learning to use. Thanks again for the sig BTW.

Macromedia Freehand is a good one to use along side Adobe Illustrator - which is more complex than Freehand.

well there is a new version of photoshop out, but since using it i've noticed hardly any new features, so it isn't really worth getting hold off unless you have some spare cash.

in my opinion photoshop is all you need for making sigs like the ones omegaslast makes. it's packed full of features, and all you need is the knowledge of how to use them, so if you're new to it all i recommend you search the web for some simple tutorials just to get yourself used to the layout.

Do you mean adobe photoshop CS (creative suite)?
Haven't checked that out yet.
And it does take some learning and tutorials to figure everything out, i'm still learning every day but making progress along the way
anywayz Good Luck People with building great sigs and stuff.

I say Micromedia Freehand is one stupid-ass programme! :nxs:

3 or 4 years ago I had to adjust the layout of a catalogue made on Freehand - believe me - it was hell. The PC was not the best it could be but it was fast enough to support Illustrator 7, Photoshop 5 and Pagemaker 6.52 all at the same time and a lot of additional stuff too... but this Freehand monster was so hungry for resources that I had to terminate every other application and it still didn't work well. And the file was nothing heavy - just some vector graphics with some small TIFFs

And making the postscripts took forever... and during the process there was no refreshing of the screen and whenever you pressed ctrl+alt+del you could see:

Micromedia FreeHand (Not Responding) :Oo:

although the software was running and making a postscript file

I don't know what version I had back there and what version is up now, but I hope I never have to see this crappy piece of software again in my life! I should sue Micromedia for the irreversible psychiatrical damage their software delivered to me...

The only think that I liked about it was that all the actions you could perform with an object were accessible through the right-click menu... and they slhould have been, cause the menus themselves were totally incomprehensible :bucky!:

My advise - while being a noob stick to software by one manufacturer (best choice - Adobe) The interface is very similar in all their products except for Adobe Framemaker (Which I think they bought off from another developer)
