Funny I don't see Germany or France... or Russia, or China... or India...

... and I am somewhat embarassed to see the name of Bulgaria there - not surprised, though - our government was always full of ass-lickers

Basicly the only great power in the list is Britain and they were somewhat reluctant to join, as I recall...

Why do we blame it all on the US? Well doesn't this list look like a flog of sheep and a sheprherd? I mean, common:

Afghanistan
Albania
...
Azerbaijhan
...
Eritrea ( :Oo: where the f*ck is that? :Oo: )
...
Mongolia
...
Tonga
...
Uganda

Is there any doubt who's calling the shots here?
Please, don't give us CNN crap, some of us are not American and simply don't buy it ;)

@Bucky: Don't take it too ppersonal - I like you as a person, I just don't like to see your country doing whatever the hell it pleases, just because it has the biggest stick

... and OK, it's a long list, pretty amusing, but still long... I don't see why the UN as a whole didn't join if invading Iraq was such a righteous thing to do...

We dont do "whatever the hell we please" we are usually invited, begged, pleaded with, to intervene. Explain why we havent stomped Cuba, for example. Been dumping their jails on our shores for years. Sheeeesh we go after 5 men I can think of in 25 years(Noriaga in Panama, Bin laden, and Saddam & Sons), and the world thinks we want to dominate it. We have invested a lot of blood equity in making sure the iron curtain did not advance any further than it did. And now when Europe is safe from the "Red Menace". Its like OK now get out. Just when Saudi Arabia is safe from Iraq, they show us the door. Whatever..Bush can be an idiot, true. Our local paper often publishes "Bushisms" the crap that comes out of his mouth is astonishing. His degree must be printed on his daddies money for sure.

Next time you are in America, Greywolf, come by and have some of the wifes apple pie.
We will warm it up and put a scoop of vanilla on it.

Just a thought that passed my mind - completely off-topic. Does anyone read fantasy stories?

Do you know about Vampires? They never go where they are not invited... but once you invite them, you can't make them leave...

Sorry, completely off-topic...

Of course, although I prefer a drizzle of caramel.

OK, here we go again.

You know, I didn't start this nonsense. I simply refuse to allow you to malign my country with untruths without challenging you with facts.

I have never, not once, in this thread defended our invasion of Iraq. I have quite simply put the facts right.

So, here again is a source.

Quote:
The wwii Casualties by country

Axis ww2 casualties

Country Military casualties Civilian casualties
Germany 3.250.000 / 3.810.000
Austria 230.000 / 80.000
Italy 330.000 / 85.000
Rumania 200.000 / 465.000
Hungary 120.000 / 280.000
Bulgaria 10.000 / 7.000
Finland 90.000 / n/a
Japan 1.700.000 / 360.000
Sorry, the formatting doesn't transfer, and I put in the bold to emphasize Japan.

Once again, you are fabricating things to make a point. TOTAL Japanese civilian casualties for the entire war were less than 400,000. If you actually study the subject, you will find that the reality is that most of those casualties were caused by the fire-bombing of cities, not by the two nukes.

So, I ask again, where do you find your evidence for "USA murdered millions of civilians just 50 years ago"?

[edit] And for a side-note.. what was Japan responsible for?
Quote:
China 3.500.000 / 10.000.000
Those Chinese casualties were at the hands of the Japanese, and you will note that that number is larger than the entire list of Axis casualties, both civilian and military for the war.

:dennis:
Since you haven't given the source, I can't comment on that.

But Yale University gives these figures:

Quote:
Estimates of Casualties Hiroshima / Nagasaki
Pre-raid population 255,000 / 195,000
Dead 66,000 / 39,000
Injured 69,000 / 25,000
Total Casualties 135,000 / 64,000
I am responding to Greywolf's claim that "USA murdered millions of civilians just 50 years ago" Murdered means dead. Deaths as a result of the nukes totalled 105,000. Not 244,000.

As far as how many people died after the fact as a result of the bombings? Well, look at it this way: If every single soul that lived in Hiroshima and Nagasaki perished either directly because of the detonation, or later because of the radiation, that would total less than 500,000.

I'm still looking for those murdered millions.

This subject has wandered into ridiculous realms. I'm done with it unless someone has some intelligent discussion to bring up.

HIROSHIMA, Oct. 12 Kyodo

The number of people whose deaths or ailments are attributed by the Hiroshima municipal government to the Aug. 6, 1945 atomic bombing of the city has increased by 19,153 in the last four years to 541,817, according to a local government survey released Tuesday.

Of this figure, 372,705 people are considered to have suffered from direct exposure to radiation from the 15-kiloton uranium bomb that leveled almost 90% of the western Japanese city 54 years ago.

The survey, which covered four fiscal years from April 1995 to March 1999, also made upward adjustments in the number of atomic bomb deaths from the fiscal 1991-1994 survey, adding 26,486 names for a total of 273,212 atomic bomb-related deaths, the city said.

Using population records at the end of World War II, the municipal government also readjusted the estimated number of those who died in the bombing and its immediate aftermath up to the end of 1945 by 1,000 to 88,865.

This figure, while slightly higher than before, still falls far short of the estimated figure of 140,000 widely believed -- and even reported to the United Nations -- to have been killed out of Hiroshima's population of 340,000 by the end of 1945.

The survey, the sixth of its kind, stated the need to use documents about military personnel posted to Hiroshima at the time, as well as to uncover more records about entire families wiped out because of the blast.

It also noted that the number of atomic bomb victims dying from old age more than half a century after the bombing is increasing.

The latest survey also used and incorporated materials on 92,000 cases, including a study conducted by the Health and Welfare Ministry in November 1995 on the current status of atomic bomb victims.

These are the numbers about Hiroshima ONLY

Anyway I hate having a dispute by googling up stuff...

A man once said "The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of one million - statistics" So if they were less than a million, they are not that many, are they?... How many people, died, you say, in the WTC?

I suggest the British should go and reclaim their rebelious colony, smack their asses and teach them some manners, namely how to play nice with the other children...
