You folks generated the 2 largest wars in the history of the globe within a single generation. Congratulations.
So you can blame Germany twice in the last century. Other countries didn't start the wars

Also - coming from this statement you can see why Europe is so anti-war now. Probably the reason is that bombs didn't fall on American soil (apart of PH) in the last century. ;)

I'm always hearing the comment that Europe is so anti-war because there was a war fought in Europe. My question always is, why didn't the last 1000 years of of spilling blood there teach them that lesson?
Yeah well after 1000yrs it was time to lighting up europe again
And we are hard learners you know

Maybe because there haven't been such huge wars with such deadly weapons before. Maybe humanity (in the face of Europe) learned that wars are senseless and too costly. Maybe because mass-media now reports from everywhere, not like in WW2 where no one except for the Governments knew what happened and where men died. There's a lot of reasons that I can think of.

The question is - why does it matter to you? Europe has suffered immensely from the war and its concequences. It's not like in your country people still find unexploded bombs, mines and ammunition from the war on daily basis, right? I guess USA didn't have such an experience since the days of the Civil War, and even the casualties suffered there weren't as big as what Europe as a whole suffered.

So yeah, the point is - we don't want wars. We don't want people dying or blood spilling anymore. It's the popular opinion among Europeans and ex-Europeans like myself, which actually it seems resonated pretty strongly in Canada and even some parts of the USA. But you support it, and that's why we'll keep having those discussions forever I guess. :bucky!: You know why I posted this thread? Because I was happy that they got him. No, not because I support the coalition and think they're doing the right thing - but because I hope now it might all end sooner, and some lives will be saved.

Find any post of mine in the last few months that has expressed either support or condemnation for the current war, or any war, for that matter. I haven't expressed any opinion about it. Maybe you need to re-read what I posted in this thread. All of my posts here have been to correct factual errors.

I made it very clear some time back that I was sick and tired of all of the US bashing going on in these forums.

If I made a post about how Russian soldiers are lazy, stupid bloodthirsty brutes, you would be howling onto the boards to flame me for making such a post. And rightfully so.

Yet I routinely see just that kind of BS on these forums... ie: Greywolf's assertion that the US murdered millions of civilians in WW2. What I find truly astounding is how enraged you people get when I take issue with lies that are posted about my country.

And yes, I am going to ignore your assinine statement that I support war.

Bucky, correct me if I am wrong, but I remember that you were a huge proponent of the war in Iraq. If you really need me to find the posts where you stated your support for the USA administration and Bush, I can do that. I just don't know why I need to do that - after all you've been here for a while and can use the "search" option ;) And if you're tired of US bashing - write / call your senator and get your troops out of Iraq and stop this senseless war. Even silent support for the administration makes you as guilty as they are.
