Let us pray that M$ ditches the idea, and concentrates on producing "stable" new releases of Windoze. Linux needs diversity, it needs the GPL - it doesn't need someone trying to loophole the system to dominate yet another market. It still goes back to the Betamax and VHS phenomenon - Beta was better, but VHS flooded the market - we all know Linux is better, quicker and a hell of a lot more stable but the number of boxes in the office running Windoze (sorry Windows) mean that many people will never be exposed to a better way. I do, however, have a nasty gut feeling that this will happen, and Billy Boy will kill Linux as we know it - it will become another commercial asset of Micro$oft, and not the intellectual property of all. Thank God Apple are commercially viable, it may soon be the only alternative to m$!! - sorry to go slightly off topic, but as you can probably gather I have strong views about this issue.

yeah he has a good point of view, and that in his second post on GH :thumbup:

let's hope Linux doesn't get killed ey, but maybe it's just their only way to get a stable system running.

let's see what Longhorn will bring kay? does anyone know anything about that stuff lately?
