The launch unit has different buttons.

Also I read on a hardware site that SONY have just been sued for close to $100m or something for infringing a PATENT on the dual-shock joypads and have been told to cease manufacturing of them! I think its something to do with the vibration pack. Microsoft settled out of court on the same infringment for $15m.. Clever M$!

I will try and dig up a link when I get home...
