A new handheld device is coming soon, ladies and gentlement, I present...
The Gizmondo (I'm not advertising it) ![]() It has MANY capabilities, and some of the games look like great ideas... Gaming Music Messaging GPS and Camera (GPS =Global Positioning Satellite; Google for more info) The specs *thanks to an ad in PC Gamer*: 400Mhz Processor 128 Bit 3D Graphics Accelerator *Supposedly an nVidia gfx card ^_^* Bluetooth 2 (Multiplayer Gaming) Windows Media Player 9 Mpeg 4 Playback MP3 Playback Stereo Headset Socket GPRS Class 10 Tri-Band GSM Removable SIM card WAP 2.0 SMS/MMS Send and Receive Polyphonic Ringtones Vibrate Mode Jpeg Camera 320x240 Pixel TFT Screen SD Card/MMC card Mini USB Port SiRF GPS GPS Tracking Application Satellite Navigation Flight Mode Removable Battery It's not out yet, but will be soon. what's with the buttons? 3 of them are re-layed out ps2 joypad buttons and 1 is just bizarre...
"hey, how do i jump in this game?" "you press the button with the 9 tiny dots on it" seriously though... looks pretty funky and has some potential but it doesn't have particularly impressive game-support so unless some major developers get behind it, it'll be somewhat of a flop.

Specs look good, but from our attempts at their marketing and pr so far, I would say they are going the zodiac or gp32 road.
N-Gage is probably the worst console currently, but with strong marketing they were able to sell one million units, which will be a basis for their future projects, instead gamepark and tapwave are barely known to most. Let's hope Tiger Electronics changes their route, gizmondo doesn't look bad. |
