Manhunt 2 Piss and Moan :D

It has been a while since I have last bitched and I know you guys miss it so, todays piss and moan is the Manhunt 2 deal. As I am sure most of you have read, Manhunt 2 has been banned in the UK, Germany, Australia, and other places. Not to mention that Sony and Nintendo won't release it as they won't let an AO rated title on their systems. This whole thing is an absolute load of shit because games are being treated differently than other forms of media. I don't see the UK banning the Saw series or any other gorefest movie! The AO rating I am ok with. The part I am not alright with is Nintendo and Sony not letting it on their systems. Who are they to tell my what I can and can't play? I am 33 years old dammit and I don't need a console maker deciding that I don't want an AO rated game! I do want an AO rated game! Especially on the Wii as it is perfect for this sort of thing and if I am not mistaken, Nintendo wanted to expand their reach in the adult market anyway. Not letting Manhunt 2 on the system is a bad mistake especially since Manhunt 2 would be one of the first 'full games' for it.

All this political crap is getting in the way of my gaming and I am really getting tired of it. They are pulling trailers due to content which is just insane and Ubisoft pulled a game because they used a word that supposedly offended the handicapped! I hear the offending word was spastic. This is just retarded. Are all games going to be yanked when something in there offends someone? Seriously, this is going too far and it needs to be stopped before the only games we get to play are mario and sonic ripoffs.

Now, I am sure that some of you will say that because games are interactive, they are different from other media. I say bullshit. Violence is violence no matter what format it is in. No one is ever going to convince me that violent games or movies causes violence in a person unless they are fucked up to begin with.

If Take Two is reading this, send me Manhunt 2 for the Wii! Not only will I play the crap out of it, I will praise it and not go on a killing spree!

well, the first game wasn't all that anyway and i doubt the second will be any better

It´s the way society sees gaming after all. Dozens of those fucked up frenzies at school, performed by retards whose lives where detroyed by a society that rewards the sportive and following types, and that punishes the so called nerds and indivudualists. But the german version makes another difference here: Your heads don´t eat the heart, they rip out the corpses´soul. This is so bigot, I could vomit every day....

I can't really say that I know where you are coming from as I live in the US and I don't usually have to deal with this crap. However, I do feel your pain. Us gamers get the brunt of crap the govts do not understand and most likely never will. Take a 33 year old gamer such as myself, I don't get the option to choose what games I or the kids get to play, instead I get some retards telling me what is good for my kids and myself!

I severely hate the way every govt treats games! All they do is rate a game for show and pr just to prove they can govern themselves!

As far as I am concerned, they can all blow me! I know what I want to play and what my kids should play! I won't even start on Germany and Australia as I just don't have the time to bitch that much

I have to agree with you Nxs. All this censorship bullshit needs to go away.
Goverments should let the people determine all of this. If a parent thinks
there child is respondsible enough then let them at it. And if that kid goes
on a spree then kill the whole lot of them. I'll vote for no censorship and

well i just wonder...dont countries have a thing called freedom of speech and so forth where you are supposed to at least be allowed to do things...the way i see it we get that right only to say what job we pick and after that the governments jsut turn around and try to tell us what we can and cant do or whats good for us...i think they should just let us do what we want as long as it aint breaking laws and have fun doin it instead of hearing..."your not allowed because the government says no" that crap annoys me.

The problem is that they don't want to let parents judge for themselves...if you think about it more and more we as parents are losing the right or ability to raise our kids. :rant: Its basically the few dumbass parents that screw their kids up that ruin it for the rest of it..especially when the media and gov't find a nice easy scapegoat such as games. ARrrggh, now I'm getting pissed too lol
