Starcraft II No LAN!!!

So, according to various sources, I understand that there will be no LAN play in SC2! What the fuck is that? Seriously here! LAN should be incorporated into every MP game period! And for the love of God, every single game made that can be played MP should be able to be played LAN!!!

If it can't be, then it is crap and should never be put on the market! So help me God, I hate ppl that put out console only games!

naa, I think anything that has to do with network should be taken away from games. That way you can make an addon/patch that cost as much as the game with the "community feature" with a monthly fee. Damn, I'm hell of a business man.

I still think this sucks! The way things are going, no game will include LAN, just some proprietary crap that we have to connect to everytime we want to play a game! SP or not. And the bitch is, none of them are compatible!

I hate steam but, I really didn't care about it that much cause I just did use the damn thing. However, I think that other companies such as Actiblizzard are trying to copy steam. There will be no LAN for SC2 or Diablo3 because they want you to connect to battlenet. Is this crap? You bet your furry ass it is!

I could have sworn publishers were supposed to give the consumer options not limit them because they are afraid of piracy! Let me give you publishers a little hint: No matter what you do to prevent piracy, someone WILL find a way around it that is much more likely to please the consumer that what you are doing.

Between this need battlenet crap and all these stupid peripheral games Actiblizzard is coming out with, I say, piss on them.

What gamer need the aggravation of forcing consumers to connect to an online service to play a SP game or need to spend $120 on a skateboard game franchise that they have spent the last decade using a controller to play the damn game?

And let's not forget that Mr Kotnick said that if it was up to him, all game prices would be increased. It looks like he is getting his way as Modern Warfare 2 will be $60 for the PC! Absolute bullshit if you ask me.

Personally, I will be sticking to games that let me, the consumer, have the option of how I, the person that paid $60 bucks on a game, decide how I can play MP. For example Borderlands. Sure, you will have to pay the 50 bucks to play the game online on the 360 but, they give you options! It will have four player split screen and system link!! This is how all games should be made with the consumer in the front not some distant thought after money and piracy!

Lan is absolutely unneccesary in any game. Gamers should not have any friends at all, so they can afford any price Mr Kotnick throws at them. 60 dollars suddendly isn't a lot when you look at it from the no lan point of view, just look at the savings you make:

No gas required to drive to friends
No beer to drink with friends
After a while you won't have to go to birthdays of friends, which saves a lot of expenses.

And the list goes on.

So stop your whining NXS, just pay for the damm game, pay 50 bucks for a ad based network that's free on ALL other consoles and platforms and just play online from the safety of your own home with whiny 12 year olds. I aplaud this no lan plan and I am going to write a blanque cheque to mr kotnick and MS so they can take all my money.
As a matter of fact, I am going to get a rather large stick, write their names on it and jam it up my ass just to show my affection

Edit: all gamers shouldn't game at all, they should just work and give their money to mr Kotnick and MS. MS even gave the world a shitty OS and a crappy console with failurerates that went trough the roof to prevent gaming.

Edit 2: Starcraft is just an old game from a time where we had little to choose from and is overglorified for that. Just like counterstrike it would hardly raise anyones eyebrow these days. Just like everyone likes mario from the old days, I just played SMB 3 the other day and it was a crappy game, just like it was back then. Back then however I had no choice, and now I do.

Why would you want to LAN when you can play on the "The Great Battle.net".

They can't make any money if your playing on a LAN. Luckily I only play Single Player Games

what about contries where we dont have unlimited cap, or where internet isn't even available! don't these countries matter to large companies?

I think this is a load of crap, and should be illegal! Gamers everywhere will want to play LAN! Stupid big corpral companies trying to make as much money as possible! They shall learn eventually.

OMFG LAN Multiplayer is so 2006... Move with the times old man!

I am willing to wager that there will be a LAN multiplayer hack within weeks of the release that will trick your machine into connecting to a local loopback port so you can run your own LAN server.
