This kills me! I remember saying this everyday before class in elementry. No one put up a fuss about it then. Why now? Because we have become so politacally correct that our own Pledge offends foriegn ppl? Don't say it if you don't wan but come on, this is what our country is built on. Will be a sad day if the high court says no one can say it anymore.

This really pisses me off also.It's not about foreign people it's about atheists and other religeous beliefs.They seem to have a problem with the one nation under God part.This country has been built on the backs of immigrants who came here to escape religeous persecution and has thrived by being steadfast in the belief that all men are created equaly.We have fought many wars and made many laws to protect our rights to free speech and freedom of religeon and now we have come to a point in our society where a very small minority of people are offended by the very things that make this nation what it is;and now we have to defend their rights to try and change that.What a fu**ing joke!

The local news ran a poll today about whether the "one nation under God" part should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance.

The results:

95% said no
5% said yes

I will be well and truly stunned, shocked and amazed if the Supreme Court orders it removed.

Don't lose any sleep over this, it dies when the Court hears the case

I'm athiest and its kind of like pledging my allegiance to one nation under barney or some sord of dragon or something. They really mean nothing to me.

See! I have nothing against that! Believe what you want, but leave what we built our contry on alone! Next thing ya know ppl will be pissed over the "In God We Trust" on our money!

exactly, I remmber saying the pledge in Highschool. I recited that pledge every moring @ 8:35am ;) "one nation under god....", didn't mean much to me, i just said it. I think that Monkey has a realy good point about immigrants there.
