Ahhh the old Ataris! Fond memories of them myself. My best Atari was the 800XL. It was a proper computer, equivalent to the c64, but with a superior soundchip. I had most of the games you mentioned, but also Ghostbusters, Caverns of Eriban, Spikey Harold, Aztec, Bounty Bob: Manic Miner 2049er, which were all damn addictive and good fun!

How about the clasic that is ELITE. Wasted days of my life playing that. !6 bit has to be Mario cart.

Why of course I remember Elite by David Braben and Ian Bell. A revolutionary game and the sequel was pretty damn impressive too, if a little bug-ridden. I just like the openness of gameplay, which is why I enjoy Freelancer and X2/X3 so much too.

Yeah I loved Wolf3D as it was one of the first 3d games with textures I ever saw running smoothly on a PC. Back then it was a truly groundbreaking title and I loved the fact it was a shareware title too! What ever happened to shareware?

guys i am 28 and i think golden axe gauntlet and airborn ranger where cool , but the old adventures like space quest kings quest etc where the bomb does day

Welcome to GH my friend. Golden Axe is a killer game and without that game SEGA would have never ripped the engine for the Streets of Rage series of games which coincidentally, is my favourite game series EVER! Gauntlet is Atari's bestest ever game and it will never be bettered for its appeal and general co-op laughter. I distinctly remember the music and digitised speech.. a bloody revelation at the time! As for airborn ranger... well TBH that one escapes me! WTF is it?

I would have to say pong is my all time favorite. Vista has a sidebar addon that is pong only smaller.
