Unknown Abyss is a MMORPG inspired by Earth and Beyond. Enb was a game that lasted exactly 2 years. It was sunseted Sep 22, 2004. While many people were dissapointed by the closing of EnB we thought about making a game based and inspired by enb. Celtic Software is the company involved in the development of the new game. Unknown Abyss is an mmorpg based in space and you are a pilot in one of three main races. All are terran races (human) and exploration is a huge part of the game. Combat and trade are also key elements, and the community is very important to being successful in the online world it will create. The game is skills based and level based. We are obviously using the TGE (torque game engine)....This game is still in creation but the game will most likely be in alpha stage in a month. But most of all we need support. We would love to have you on our forums @ www.unknownabyss.com. We will be having contests and will keep the community informed about how the making of the game is going. We will update our site and post regularly. The developers love to hear your opinions and would love to see you post.

Some things to look forward to:
-Choose your destiny! 3 different classes to suit you!
    -Merchant
    -Warrior
    -Explorer
All of these classes will contain mini classes or professions such as Mining, Bounty hunting, Scouting.

    -Choose your faction!
-Pick from 3 factions with unique backgrounds!
-Also choose from over 8 sub factions!

Also on our forums I would reccomend taking a look at the sketches and pics of the ships the team has designed. Screenies can be found here http://www.unknownabyss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20

    Thanks guys!

Looks promising, but will it live up to its promises. I really hate monthly fees but if the game is good enough ill pay them.

Why do people kill people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?

well whats going to probably happen is that the game first will be released as a mini mmorpg as a demo for people to explore and get ideas about if they will play the game in the future. This is will totally free (but will except donations) then the game will be realeased a while after that. Most likely a free download and probably a trial to see if you will play the actual game and then you can pay after that.

What I dislike about mmorpgs is that they sell you the boxed version and then you have to pay for a monthly fee. Our game will probably be lower than most games monthly fees also.

these are not completely decided on but when we know more information will be released on the site.

    check it out at www.unknownabyss.com

    and keep you posted

well the demo is going to be open for everyone to try out it is going to have a very limited area to travel and a lot of limited stuff but will give you the feel of the game so to speak. That i am not sure when that will be finished i dont want to give out any dates or anything because i cant guarantee them. I doubt beta for the real game will be for a while but when there is important news like stuff like that we can just email everyone registered there on the forums about what ever is going on.

if i get anymore information i will try to post it here asap but if you want to get it as quick as you can then prolly good idea to register on the site. Thank you and will keep you posted.

Get over it, subscription fees are the means companies use to buy new and better equipment and expand their operations. If you don't want to pay the fees, then don't, go play stand alones or go head to head with your PS2 but stop complaining about something that is a necessary evil for MMORPGs. I will agree that the fees are too high but you're not going to be able to do away with them completely, just my two cents worth.
