OH DEAR GOD..srry for caps but PLEASE READ!! :(

Ok, as some of you may know i posted on here enquiring about buying a new fan. So i order this fan, it arrives, i try to fit it, and find that its the wrong model, which is entirely my fault. So i put the old fan back in and the pc won't start.

I take it to a small pc shop in a nearby town, and the guy manages to get it working with the old fan. I bring it home, and notice that loads of air is being blown out of the side of the pc...the idiot put the fan back in, the wrong way around.

So i take it out and flip it over. The pc starts, and i hear some weird really high pitch squeeks. Usually, when i turn my PC on, the fan blasts out for about 5 secs, then turns off. But now, the fan stays like that all the time...right now, it's really loud. This is'nt normal.

It does'nt end there.

I run WoW, and it starts to jump and play slowly. I have a Geforce 7800 GTX and so i always play it on high without any probs. So now its running all jumpy. I start to worry now and think "O Shit!"

CoD2 i thought was ok, but at certain areas it goes real slow.

Please be honest.

Why is this happening? (graphics card and fan)

Could it be that i've damaged something when trying to fit the fan??

I have tried new drivers for g card but still no luck.

Worst case scenario?? -- how much is it gona cost too?

sound like you need more/better memory. you should probably have a gig of ram.
try some WD-40 for the fan :P

and as i said, this prob has only just started.

And I really do not think ram has anything to do with fans Fans are dependant on the psu not ram

Your cpu is most likely way too hot and that's the reason your pc is unstable. Check the fan and the problem should be fixed.

You are wrong there, the fan is supposed to blow the hot air out and thats your problem. Right now the hot air is being sucked back in. fix it.

When i opened the case last week, the fan was a particular way round. I got it back from the guy, and it was the other way round. The air being blown out, which was cool, surely was meant to be blown onto the motherboard?

Even backwards it should work, not as good but it still works. You should have a better cpu fan from the beginning!

They are like power supplies, you need a good one FIRST. And make sure the heat sink is copper, not allum, or copper color.

Make sure you plugged it in to the cpu power socket and not a mobo fan socket.

I found out that my CPU fan is running at 4219 RPM permanantly.

Is'nt this a bit too fast? The noise is incredibly loud.

It does'nt NEED to be that fast when i'm just browsing the internet!

It never used to do this, that's why i'm asking what went wrong.
