Something I never expected, we all know that the 2900 XT simply shouldn't have what it takes. Especially versus the faster hardware of the 8800 GTX this simply doesn't sound logical. PC magazine is a well respected and objective source, so it's highly doubtful they messed with the results.
All benches have been done in Vista so the only logical explanation would be that Ati has drivers better at handling that os.

DAAMIT fanboys grasping onto the dust and embers of ATI past. Quite simply Gazz you know its not the cards that are more powerful here, it is the drivers. Those test results are inaccurate and out of date. When were the Nvidia results taken... Oh yes thats right April!... Did ATI even have a DX10 product in the market in April? Show me an article with 8800GTX on 163.11 Vs Catalyst 7.7 in single card and multiple card configurations and then tell me who beats who!
