    during random points in gameplay, the aoph demo will shut down my computer and restart it. i dont understand. am i overclocking my video card? im running a Nvidia 6200 geforce (128 MB), on a windows xp home edition (512 RAM), Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz, DirectX 9.0c


    help?

    If you have to ask, I doubt you are overclocking your system. Most likely your driver is crashing y6our computer. Get the latest one from here and see if that works. Just uninstall your previous driver and replace it with this one.

    If it doesn't then it might be your graphic card overheating, but let's hope this is just a software error. Most likely your old card just has some issues with newer games.

    thanks. theyre downloading as i type. if something goes wrong, i can just install the old drivers from the nvidia disk right?

    Sure you can, this shouldn't lead to any issues though. You might wanna download the latest version of Direct X 9.0 C too, might help get performance up a small notch too.

    do you play any other games? Could be a heat issue, make sure the fan on the video card is still working.

    i downloaded both the new drivers and the latest directX...still happens. i dont think its a heat issue anymore because after some experiments, i see that it happens whenever i crash or finish a mission. that is a bit too coincidental for heat, i think

    Yeah, that sounds like probably a game bug. Since its a demo, I would probably put money on it just being something screwey in the code perhaps.
