Question Ghost Recon 1, Island Thunder, Desert Storm

    Hi all,
I am buying a Dell Studio 17 with the following....
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2160
    OS: Vista Home Premium
    HDD: 320G 5400 RPM
    Ram: 4G of system ram
    Optical Drive: DVD/RW
Video: 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650
Screen Resolution: 1920x1200 pixels with a Aspect Ratio of 16:10
My question is do you fine people think that this system will run Ghost Recon Gold Edition?

    Thank you all,
    GhostRecon1

    Short answer: YES

No need to worry. A custom videocard would be nice though instead of the onboard one.

The cpu and ram are nice, but how gazz says the onboard videocard is abit low end, is there a Dell laptop model with a better graphics card in it too?
If so, i would go for the better one, also better on the long run for future games, since u cant change it later on like a desktop pc!

Or am i talking bs, and is every laptop these days customizable with a seperate gfx addon?

If so, i take my text back

Actually external videocards for laptops are currently on the rise.

It is old indeed, but from a time in which operating systems were lighter than Vista. So you need relatively high specs.

Wow, the specs won't change for the game itself, just for the OS.

Thus higher specs to play the game, because the combination of OS and game are requiring more system resources. Just think of the fact that the system requirements as given by developers these days are separate for XP and Vista.
