stalker- the screen is patch 10004 and basix gfx mv 2.0 mod- i think the vid was patch 10004 vanilla and veteran skill level--its either 10004 or 0005.i cant remeber now.. the end of the vid is my favorite part..it makes me laugh when the bots adjust his helmet when you shoot them in the head..

fear- sorry.. wrong vid.i changed it..first time i seen 1 of these robots and was busting through walls freaked me out, i ran and fired as i traded time for ground..i liked it so much..i went right from save played it again just like i did the first time and recorded it. this was 1 of my favorite parts of fear.. ha ha. it took like 8 shot gun blasts and 3 land mines to kill his butt..

i use zdsoft game recorder 2.0.1.0. it dont work with cod4- gta vc or bioshock. zd has a do everything recorder now.it will not work on them games either. so. i will try and use xfire. i used it to make the few bioshock videos.

but ive used other desktop recorders too. like camstudio2 i used camstudio2 on my first videos.. like stalker hell and some postal2 videos at youtube. stalker hell my 3rd most viewed video with around 11,000 views i think it is.. its with patch 10003 and faiakes mod 2.2

after i finished the game.1 of many play throughs. i came back from saved games to make this video.. i think it was about 20- 25 monsters on this level and most of them attack me in this lil area.. ive got tons of comments..some deleted smart asses trying to start trouble. but some ask why did i play it like i did. why not move out more into the open etc.. well. i was never a soldier or a general etc..but i do read and enjoy history and even battles of the bible what ever..the history channel etc. and ive had my own battles in my life..im no punk or coward but no bully either. and i do have lots of common sense if nothing else. i cant type and spell worth a crap and poor grammar maybe.. but hey im retarded..

but i do know. when odds are so great against you or you are all alone etc.. to put your self in the best defensible position you can and limit the flow and direction your enemies can attack you is way better versus hitting you from all sides.. and too. i had more ammo and more powerful weapons. i did beat them all on my way to the end game..but. i like this video and its ending and posted it as is.. quality is not the best using camstudio2 game recorder but hey.. i was learning and new to videos.. im still no expert and do not claim to be..i just do the best i can and have fun while doing so.. oh ya.. folks say they like my desktop at the end of the movie.. it is from pkbooh. i love the clowns at the loony park..

In my case, Camstudio runs hopelessly, even GTA2 is being recorded with merely 12 fps at max. Fraps runs way better (Far Cry 2 with 30 fps is no problem, not even when the game's graphics are on VHQ), but to get rid of the 30-seconds time limit I would have to pay 40 dollars via Paypal to the rather anonymous author.
So I wonder whether I can gert a decent performance of Camstudio somehow. Or can you recommend another program?

hi richard..

bare with me i type a lot. but id rather have a few long posts rather than a dozen smaller ones.and people posting between them while trying to help... but i try as best i can to give all the info and all i know.i might even do some help screens or videos..just read and stick with me..

um seems like from your specs your pc is pretty powerful. im not sure what your desktop res is. but id lower it to 1024x768 or 800x600 and max out game quality settings and play the game in window mode if using camstudio.. id use camstudios own codec a separate download same page you get camstudio from or use the drop down and mpeg1 wmv..

sound if it can not be recorded to mp3 or more compressed codec. sound can be over half of the total file size say a 2gig file is over half sound. a good program to check what codecs are installed on your system and what codecs are used in sound or video is [ gspot ] and it can render sound and video to see if it works and should play on your system etc.. its a good program when you get vids what ever and do not know what codecs was used to make them..and will show how large the video and sound parts are in the video etc..

also.. video as with sound say mp3 you can down size from say 192bit to 128bit but not other way. well you can but at bad quality.. so with video when converting and to new codecs etc..its best to 1 to 1 say 640x480 to 640x480..or down size to 640x480 to 512x384 etc etc. also the more conversions the less the end product quality will be. anther thing to think of is.. if you are going to upload to say youtube.. it converts again and resizes..its default player screen size is 425x305 if i remember right..people get confused because it says the best upload size to youtube is 640x480..

and id turn off all extra back ground programs and do not multi task while trying to record.. turn off extra surf or chat what ever while playing and all security other than your firewall.. and id use spybot what ever to stop extra junk from your vid card and sound from loading at system boot up..i just run the bare basics for it all to work right and precision etc to control vid card fan speed..but both sound and vid card installs extra junk that runs 24,7 and eats resources..

another thing is.. many people are over ambitious. and many people have high res lcd's and wide screen and then wonder why they can not max out game settings and or record.. well anything id say much over 1440x900 you need a super computer and multi vid cards.. them high res are fine and dandy for glorified surfing and viewing videos.. but you need 1 hell of a system to max out say crysis running 1680x1050 or 1920x god what ever.. and then think you can record and or using say a fraps or what ever.. i use zdsoft it has more options and can get better perforamce while trying to record.. but is a few games that do not work with it..but id guess some games will not work with different record programs ..so..
