Bots in MMO's.

So we have EVE Online, WoW, Aion, EQ and DAoC etc...all MMO's, the majority of these games have a common enemy as well as Power Levelling services - Bots!

What do you think of Bots, are they a good or a bad thing, obviously I don't like them one bit since they can be used to inflate the economy for other players and generally they cause problems.

What are your thoughts though? Any bad Bot experiences?

Bots are good for nothing except in destroying the game's economy and the game itself. I hate botters and gold sellers.

I agree. bots ruin the economy Greatly. In Rohan before, you couldn't even log-in because of the bot infested population. once the bot became pay to use... you can even access the servers in any hours without any problems. Aside from that, they are fastkillers which hogs the monsters in area.

Powerleveling/goldfarming services are just horrible! They should be banned in all games. Period!

The only thing these services provide is a way for the lazy ass player to cheat! If it was up to me these services would be banned in every damn country around the world as nothing good comes of it.

China can suck me as they are the main problem with this. Do I even have to mention Evony?

This should not even be a thread! All of it is completely wrong and they should be banned from the internet altogether.

I used to see fishing bots in FFXI all the time. I can't stand them because they screw up the economy. I used to work with a guy who used glider for his WoW account before Bliz shut them down. I could never understand why he wanted something to play the game for him.

It's always good to hear when someone like Blizzard or NCSoft shut down a spammer or botter, as for the glider thing...exactly, I'm trying to work out why you'd want someone to do the game for you.

I mean, it is like me handing a controller or computer over to a mate of mine and saying, "Ok, I'm going to watch movies for three days, you finish Mass Effect, Uncharted 2 and Ghostbusters."
