I've read that the Mafia patch (some say) is not even worth installing for those who get no sound during cutscenes and want the fix.

I've only had this problem since running XP.

Does the patch indeed cause more problems/glitches? If so, what?

Any know/had any experience with this patch and XP?

I have onboard audio... will the patch actually help?

I'm running RADEON 9700 PRO (AIW ATI) with NO problems. Could the patch cause problems since its meant to help fix ATI-related problems?

    Thanks.

    Doubt it.

But if you want to be smart backup all yuour saved games / profiles / whatever before installing the patch... If something goes wrong you could always reinstall the game anyway and continue it from where you've stopped.

    Alright, thanks.

Now, have two more small questions:

    1) does the patch work well enough with XP to fix the sound problem with Mafia? (only had this problem since running XP)

    and

    2) I've read many reports of this patch causing a 'slowing down' of FPS and some other things with this patch... and validity to this?

    Thanks again,

    J
