    Default Saints Row The Third

I received SRTT yesterday and have played some hours on it. I am really liking the over the top feel of this game. Still love the insurance fraud activity and the new Prof. Genko thing is pretty sweet as well. I have not played enough of it yet to do any kind of review, but I think it is safe to say it would get an easy 8. It is just stupid fun. The only thing that is taking me a little bit to get used to is the over the shoulder view. I hate it when the character is not centered on the screen. Still, it is time to take a break from Skyrim and go play some SRTT!

Well I played a shit ton yesterday and completed 49 percent of the game and I still think it is all kindsa fun, but it seems as though there is not much to this one as compared to SR2. I mean the entire map is already open, there is only one airport, and thus far, only two planes and two choppers you can fly. Now that may change as I get further, but still kinda sucks going to the airport and only being able to fly two of each.
Not sure what it is, I just can't shake the feeling that this iteration is lacking. Maybe it is because I know that all that DLC is coming that should have been in the game or that I just play through very quickly. Either way, SRTT is not worthy of $60 in its current state! Good damn thing I rented it. Here is a pic I took flying around the city at night. I will take better ones when I play this weekend.

This isn't COMPLETELY to do with SRTT, but a lot of companies lately have been claiming that DLC is the "new tool" to fight against used game sales. It's become really obvious the last year or so that some games seem to have content removed from them which is later sold off as DLC just to try and keep people from selling the game off early as there'll be "new" content coming shortly after the release.

True! And it is really noticeable with SRTT. I do not disagree with DLC, usually, however when content is removed/delayed just to deal with used sales or to make a quick buck, I hate it! Even though the game is fun enough on its own merits, the whole DLC thing really does kill it for me.

I own the first two and had every intention on purchasing this one. After playing it though, I see no reason to buy it after I kick the crap out of it.

All this day one DLC and online pass shit is doing is, making gaming more of a chore rather than a fun hobby. These bastards are killing gaming as we older gamers know it just to make a buck.

Enough of the rant though. I greatly enjoy SRTT and will continue to play it til I finish it 100 percent.
