Thread: anyone having trouble with yahoo?

    everything works except for its main thing.when i try to find something using there search engine i always get a "page cannot be found" plus google.com doesnt load either.
    Please tell me this is happeing to everyone and not just me

    I had that happen a few days ago. Not sure exactly what happened but all I did to fix it was copy a windows file from my other puter and it worked

    if i was to get the service pack 1 for windows xp,you think that would fix my internet problems.a friend of mine said i should stay away for this particular update

    I havent updated XP ever! lol You can find the file you need to change in windows/sys32/drivers/etc the file is one of the host files. Try taking it out and see what hapens

    i got 7 files in there [hots,hostsagb,networks,services,hosts.20030907-001808.backup,lmhosts,protocol]
    Also,are there any in htere that shouldnt be?
    Which of these are readonly and which are suppose to be archive?

    I only had to move the one that is on the upper left when you have it in tiles view.
    I have 6 files in there which are hosts.20030924-125227.backup, lmhosts, networks, protocol, services, and hosts. As far as I know you only need to mess with the one

    damnit still dont work

    well seeeing how nothing is working for me,list me some other search engines beside dogpile and goggle,something along the same as yahoo,you know has a search engine and a news colum on the main page.
