Hi. I am having a problem burning DVDs, Ok. Here is the problem. I can burn the DVDs and they play on the computer, But they wont play on anything else, I have burned 2 different DVDs and they both do it, I was burning them using RecordNow. I was looking for a option that might be preventing that, But there was none, I heard on WindowsMedia Player u can change it but it wont burn on there.

I know when you put in a blank DVD, A menu screen is suppose to come up but nothen does. How do i get around all this. I can burn DVD's but cant play them on thing else besides the computer. Help me please

What media are you using? Chances are your other devices don't like the discs you are using. DVD burning is not an exact science in the way that CD burning is.

I am using what is called (Record Now). I know a window is suppose to pop up when i put in a blank DVD. But it doesnt. When i burn CD's. It works fine. They play on anything. I think this is might what happen to the DVD burner. About a 2 weeks ago. I got a virus in my computer. I had to delete Norton because it got infected. I wasnt able to redown load it anymore. I dont know if the virus got into the DVD burner. So would it be a safe bet to wipe and reinstall my computer??

uhhhhhhhh record now sucks use roxio easy media creator 7 go buy it its only 70 bucks at most and it is one of the best digital suites. It actually has an option with a checkmark that enables playback on most consumer dvds and other devices. One question though why can't u redownload norton? just curious.

    WILL WORK 4 BANDWIDTH

I dont know why. It brought up a error window but didnt say why. Which was weird. Well. I formated and recovered my system. It still doesnt work. When i put in a black Dvd. It wont work. I wont even take things from other CD;s. Only files it is burning. You think Nero is a good product to get or the other one u put is better?

Nero is an excellent brand of products and the one i mentioned is great to. In the end my advice is for what you want do go buy a program that burns media in different formats its the best way to do it.

hmm...first of all virus is a software, burner is hardware. it can't be infected by the virus!
second, are u burning a dvd image or juts a bunch of files? becuz for example if ur burning a movie image then u can watch it on ur pc or dvd player or ps2 or...so all depends on wut u wanna burn. and the autoplay property depends mostly on ur burner settings. and I dun see any problem with it not showing. just run the porgram u wanna use (record now or wutever). and its a good program I never had problems with it. but wut I really recmmend is to use the software u got with ur dvd burner box...

in my experience dvd burning isnt an exact science yet, my advice is DO NOT use cheap blank dvd's, ive found that more often than not they fail, thats just me though, id also try alcohol 120% thats what i use and along with a good brand dvd they play in everything ive tried, oh yeah, and what dont they play in, your dvd players? coz some dvd players refuse to play "copied" dvd's (happened to my girlfriends)

What type of DVD's are you using? I noticed DVD-R's will only play in my computer and not in anything else. But DVD+R's will play in my computer and my DVD player and PS2. Hope this helps some ;)
