i know alot of people on this forum are PC gamers, and i know not much is known about the new consoles, but which console will you PROBABLY be getting, the answer can be bassed on the few facts that are known about the consoles, or just past performance of the consoles today, or even a zealous answer where your just a ps2/xbox/gc fanboy, all is good.

i personally havnt a clue, 2 years ago i would of said ps3 for sure cos i was kind of a fanboy, but since i got an xbox and GC (mainly the xbox) iv seen the light, but ps2 was an all round good console so i expect ps3 to be the same, and xbox is good at whats its good at, throwing about power and FPS, so really what im trying to say is, i'll probably get both...GC 2 or whatever its gonna be called can go eat shit...lol (unless of course resi evil is still exclusive to it)

we dont know enough about the ps3 yet, so im going with the xbox 2. the next from nintendo (besides the ds) will probably be very interesting too. personally i dont think the cell technology from sony is going to work, so until we see some proper specifications i'm not going to be drooling after it. if the xbox 2 specs are correct then it'll probably be a great thing, but I suspect the games we'll see won't be ALL that much different from what we're playing now. the next from nintendo will probably let us play games in a new way, and to me that's more interesting than getting high-end PC level graphics on my TV

but how exactly are they going to do this? will they just make the hardware magically pop out of the air? they have said they're thinking about cell technology, where one ps3 connects to several idle ps3's and they all work together on calculations and whatnot. This sounds good and all, but due to the latency everyone has in a network it can't be used to handle stuff like real-time rendering, which is basically the most important thing.

really we dont know, we're just gonna have to wait and see, only time will tell, all i know is the successor to GC can go to hell, if its anything like GC then its gonna flop so bad, yes the games were decent but its just failing so badly, they only got decent sales when they droped the price to like £80, so there not making profit at all.

ps2 has kicked the competing consoles in the teeth, its sold so many more that xbox and GC put together, so the chances of it being the top dog in the next gen is highly likely, people who baught a ps2 will no doubt buy a ps3, and those who baught an xbox will buy and xbox next, its pretty much that simple.

and as for the gamecube, only the fanboys of nintendo will buy 'em *caugh* spragginx *caugh*

if ps3 is as powerfull as they say then cool, i personally think that there wont be that much of a difference between them, there all coming out at pretty much the same time, so xbox wont have the extra year or so they had to develop hardware like they did last time, so i honestly cant see that big of a difference, graphically at least

Off the top of ma head, i would probobly get the next gen Xbox - but things change, if PS3 can match the spec of an Xbox 2, then Sony seem to get better publisher's working for them than Microsoft can, so PS3 would be pretty kool

Whatever you do, do NOT write off the next nintendo console so soon.

they've promised something which will alter gaming as we know it. Hence the in-progress name "Revolution". They've also stated that gaming has got to the point that it isn't specifications or graphics which need to be upped, but new, original ideas which need to be formed.

after the announcement of the awsome looking DS, it looks to me like Nintendo could have something absolutely stunning up their sleeve. I suppose only time will tell...
