Where do you extract files when you install DirectX 9.0 Redistributable? It asks me where i want to extract the files and i have to choose a place but i don't exactly know where to extract the files! PLEASE HELP ME!!

P.S I need to install DirectX 9.0c to play 'Singles flirt up your life!' But when i try to install DirectX 9.0c it tells me 'the cabinet file cannot be trusted'...Aswell as helping me with my above problem, helping me with this one would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to GamersHellForums Clown Tears, might I suggest you use another avatar,
because the forum mod uses this one.

Now simply to your problem which seems to be no problem
Use a path you can easy find again C:\directx for instance
after the Installation has been completed you can savely erase this temporary folder.

About the cabinet can not be trusted problem, have no solution for this one.

Could be related to Windows XP Service Pack 2, which causes all kind of troubles, but
I´m not completly sure of that.

(By the way your not the only one with that problem, see Sims 2 threads)

Thanks, I looked at the Sims 2 threads and tried a few of the solutions for the cabinet file error but i didn't really understand most instructions for help and i'd most probably prefer getting help for my game as it needs certain other system requirments. Any suggestions?

'the cabinet file cannot be trusted' is a tough one, if You keep getting this look here;
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;822798

I read method 4 worked for someone. Be warned I have never done this so I cannot say what the cons may be.

You can copy and paste to cmd box.

Good luck.

If your addressing me then;
If you do not have SP2 I guess You could try it.
I think Tiger was guessing that SP2 may be causing your problem.

The link I gave you tells about SYMPTOMS and Methods
of possible repair. I don't think your exact Symptom is there
only I read that Method 4 may cure your problem.

Once again remember you can copy and paste to cmd box,
if your going to try this.

Clown Tears let us know if this works for you please.

Seems lots of ppl are comming here with same issue.

I have Warn checked and never recall being warned.

FYI M$ goings on don't always work, only for me they have helped at times.
