    Hi all!
Im buying a new graphics card to replace my old 9800xt but im torn between the x800 xt pe or 6800 ultra, what should i buy? Ive noticed in terms of fps they are pretty much the same except in their supported games, doom3 better on geforce and halflife 2 better on radeon. What really bothers me is which one will last longer (more future proof) , the ultra has shader modal 3 support whilst the xt pe has the 3dc texture feature. Im so confused and just dont know what to get :bucky!: . Well money isnt an object as I can afford both so please reply back with answers of why u think I should get the graphics card u mention. Also will the other components of my pc be-able to handle these beasts fully or will I have to upgrade somethin? Heres my spec below:

    3ghz p4 800fsb, 1mb of cache
    1gb ddr400 ram
    460 watt Akasa psu
dell motherboard with 8x agp slot
    120gb 7200rpm 8mb cache harddrive

    Well thanks for your help!

you need cards that support SLi, they have a connecting piece that unites them
so 2 9800's wont cut it unless there made for it

The Ultra is not PCI-E so you can't join two together in SLI mode

I would buy an Ultra, i have one and am very pleased with the card however, it needs a 500Watt PSU, as it has two molex connecters, and it takes up two slots in your rig

Ant SM3.0 is great in Farcry

I thought you meant a standard Ultra

I have an Ultra and it has not got a PCI-E connection

wow...everybody on this thread needs to be more specific.
theres a lot of versions of every card so it can lead to
    misunderstanding :bucky!:
