Extreme Graphics Problems

hi

i suffer from extreme graphics problems in HL2

some things like the big machine in Dr.Kleiners lab are totally covered with a WHITE layer !, other things like lights on ceilings also and some doors.
Does anyone have the same problem and anyone who knows how to solve this problem , the game looks like crap like this), , all the flying scanners and healing stations are also white.

The rest of the outdoors are great !!, im in the canal level now (just bought the game) but the white things AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH :rant:

And even worse, sometimes my computer makes a sissing sound and then restarts AAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGG

if you keep your pc in standby all the time that could do it, it happened to me that way.
if so try retsarting yer rig.
if that doesnt do it your drivers may be corrupt

then try this: (not garenteed to work)

1-locate and download most current for your card
2-uninstall your vid card drivers
3-restart pc
4-install currernt drivers
5-restart

then you should be set if that was the problem

if not your game install maybe screwed up or corrupt
so try re-installing HL2

if that doesnt do it you might have
internet garbage like malware, spyware ect

use ad-aware in that case (google it)

i think its a driver problem, but the problem is i cant install a 6x.xx driver because everything will stutter then
the latest driver, which i now have, that i can run without any stuttering is 56.72 (the last 5 series driver) i got a fx 5900 ByTheWay
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE DEMO (only not that worse)

Its probobly your nVIDIA GFX card, which sucks ass... i wish they made the game geared towards both cards.... anyways... it sounds like you might need to Reformat or its your card, but mostlikely you need to reformat.. ive had stuff like that messed up with MohAA:Spearhead... which is a old game now... but ive had certain playermodels colorless... with just Greyish white.... but that was after I installed Custom skins into the game... (Not cheats, so screw you if you think otherwise....) you havent Installed any Mods have you? im guessing its probobly the same thing... Hope i helped a tad

it's probably a driver problem, because the problems are now over, (installed a 66.93 driver), but there's a NEW problem grrrrrrrrr, i now have @1152 864 everything maxed:

5-20 fps instead of 40-120

and now that you mention it : i had the same problems with Moh:aa - every enemy and building was white
