X850XT Platinum Edition or GeForce 6800 PCI xpressâ„¢X16?
Getting a new comp, any ideas on what graphcard I should choose?

I have been told that they are much better cards

ati is also reliability but just has some problems. Still go with the Ati x850xt since its much faster then all cards right now.

A:Comparing the X850XT PE with a standard NVIDIA 6800 is dumb.

Standard 6800: 5 pipelines, 12 pixels, 256bit, *3900MT/s, DDR, **19.20GB/s
XT PE edition X850: 6 pipelines, 16 pixels, 256bit, *8640MT/s, GDDR3, **37.76GB/s

If you can afford a X850XT PE, why not comparing it to the 6800Ultra ? Although I think, with all do respect to 6800 Ultra series, I would go with the X850XT PE, or ASUS's 6600GT duel core card.
