Hi juzam, welcome to hell. Looking at your problem, it seems that you may need to update your motherboard drivers. I have seen a couple of cases with the same problem, both worked fine before sp2, and after it started to have that problem. What both did were to download the newest motherboard drivers, and after that they worked fine. Hope this helps.

Thanks, when you say motherboard drivers, are those the same as the chipset drivers or is it a different thing?

different thing, it updates your bios and such that are really meant for your motherboard. on the other hand your chipset is part of your motherboard, but not actually considered your motherboard.

I tried flashing the bios with the latest bios update from the ecs website, i also installed the Intel Chipset Drivers (for Intel 865 Chipeset Family) from the Intel website. Also, i got the latest catalyst drivers from Ati.com. But still i cant find a way to turn it on.
Maybe there is some conflict because i tried my older card Geforce Mx 400 and agp was set to 2x and i didnt even do anything, i just popped it in and there it was.
I also did some research and apparently, there are a lot of people experiencing the same trouble as i have, especially with Ati 9800 Pro and Intel 865 Chipsets.
To those that had the same problem i have now, please tell me what you did in order to turn the AGP to 8x because your solution might also work for me.
Thanks a lot.

Have you tried using the Omega driver suite? There are also lots of useful toolbar utilities out there that allow you to force the AGP,FastWrites and Sideband Addressing modes, one of which is included in the Omega Suite.
