My 6800GT was hot. REALLY Hot! (76+ Idle, 110+ Load) Yeah nooooot good! So I bought an NV Silencer 5 rev. 3 Installed it and damn I have got to say, this is probably the best 30$ i've ever spent

OC'd my GT to Ultra speeds
52 idle, around 60 load

If you have a card that supports NV Silencer take this as a clue to go get one now

10/10

wow, that was hotter than mine. and i also have the exact same silencer... put it on, didn't screw it tight enough, and got temps right through the roof (idle 160 :P)
when i checked it, the core only made like for 1 quarter contact with the thermal paste. screwed it on with special thermal paste and this time with a screwdriver.
idle temps are now 50 at idle, 56 at load. (before the silencer it was about 10 degrees higher, not THAT much)

working the darn thing (especially for oblivion) at a whopping 380/1.05 ghz... whats urs cow? (using coolbits)

oh, and before i forget, my XFX cooler made one HELLUVA noise. with the silencer, its all quiet in there! yay!

>cow, you payed 30 bucks? lol! i payed like 12 euros

I brought one for my old x800 when the on-board fan died. Paid about £18.00 for it. Core temps dropped from 88 on load to 40 degrees C!

Got to say they are bloody excellent value for money!

We on about Celsius or Fahrenheit? 110c sounds smoking hot! 110f sounds fine.
