Nice review, nice visitation to the background of EQ world.
A couple points: Faes get injured (or die) when falling only if you are in combat. Graphics really do still require a lot but turning off shadows helps a heap. But I prefer the gfx to be requiring more of my machine than lacking something (as is the case in WoW). The fact that the expansion is so huge, and all that was made in 8 months...thats some busy devs, copious amounts of content. I just realized that a few days ago. I only got my fae to 17 or so (troubador), mostly because the class didnt suit me (bad soloer) so I havent still seen all the lowbie areas and just about none of the higher level areas. What has WoW gotten in the last 2 years? No expansions, a dungeon every 3-6 months or so. Do they have devs or is it 1 guy doing it all? 3 Expansions to EQ2, a couple adventure packs, combat remake etc, lots of content. What I dont understand is why the numbers of subscribers arent vice versa between EQ2 and WoW. Maybe it's because EQ2 gets just about no publicity in magazines, gaming sites and barely gets a mentioning. But then again, who would want the WoW community?

Yes, there's lots of questions in the beginning in EQ2. I suggest joining a helpful guild early on, players are generally helpful and theres just so much to learn from others.
Makes the learning curve less steep. And theres other benefits with a guild too.
