Gothic Movie

1 hour 43 minutes and change, that's how long this movie is.
After 33 minutes of watching it I am now convinced why I was never tempted to buy and
play this awfully boring game.

The movie, if you did not already know, is gameplay footage, that is: it's not machinema. In fact,
I thought it was a live action film, but instead it's the player playing the game through it's conclusion.
It has been edited in a movie type fashion without the HUD (heads up display and interface) showing.
Also, this film was originally in German, and translated into english, so some footage was removed from
the original version.

Even so, it's still a pretty boring game and takes to long to tell it's story. After a half hour I all I see is the
player learning the game via quests -- and still there is no story involvement or any kind of plot.
I think if the footage was edited differently it would have been more enjoyable, but as it is, it makes
Gothic look like a boring game .

By the way, I do not consider graphics a key factor in gaming (sadly too many idiots do) - I only consider
story/plot development, characters, and gameplay (this includes games solely focused on fighting & killing),
graphics are just there for visualization. So I didn't care that the graphics are 'dated' by todays "standards"

It's actually a great game. and the movie had the original speaker do the talking for it. it's not entirely just gameplay.
