Talking Overlord

Well, I know this game has been out for a while, and it is available on PC, PS3, and Xbox; how ever this is a very fun game, and deserves to be broadcast.

So if you still have not played Overlord, and are interested in a medium length fun little adventure that is so much fun when your drinking, due to the simplicity of the controls and interface; then read on!

Controls are simply walk the evil empire whack stuff, and cast spells, while at the same time, walking/guiding hoards of little gremlin style creatures into anything that you would like destroyed, killed, picked-up, drank (they drink ALOT of beer, and pissing follows), twisted, and so on and so forth. Their are no long button combos to remember (sorry you konami freaks) and the movement of the characters feels natural.

In the game (plot time- sort of) you start off as the king of a fallen evil empire who is revived from an eternal sleep by some creepy little dudes. You spend the first 1/2hour of the game learning the controls, and beating up on a jester. As the game progresses you find your self immersed in a sandbox-ish environment, staged in feudal times.

With out giving away too much of the game but to get you interested the whole concept is based around beating up gay little hobbits, and faggety peasants alike, in order to pillage, loot, and drink your way into controlling each of the kingdoms, and make your castle pretty...

I give the game a 9 of 10 (when drunk) and a 6-7 of 10 (when sober)

It has been sequeled by Overlord II already. But you're right. it is a fun game as long as you don't expect too much (let's not forget that the dutch studio is not as huge and "rich" as e.g. Rockstar Games etc., which may have limited them a bit).
